Suffield Hosts TVCA BAH

Everyone is invited to Suffield Village as Suffield hosts a HUGE TVCA Business After Hours for all local chamber members.
 
The event will feature a slide presentation from Paul Christian on Connecticut Shade Tobacco.  In addition we will have great refreshments and food for all.

Farm-friendly event - Parking $5/vehicle - Animals - Demonstrations - Entertainment - Kids Corner - Contests - Exhibits include: alternative energy info, crafters, environmental info, antique engines - Tractor Parade at 12 noon:  farm, garden, pedal and toy tractors all welcome - Food Concessions:  Ice Cream - Scoup du Jour, Lunch - Broad Brook Rotary

Craft Fair at Babb's Park
CALLING ALL CRAFTERS! 
CRAFT FAIR
Babb's Park
September 18, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
 
 All crafters are invited to display and sell their creations for only $10/space.  All donations will benefit the Babb's Restoration Project.  Spaces are 12' x 12' and include only the space.  You must provide your own table, chairs, tent or whatever you need.  For more information, contact Linda at www.babbsrink.org.  Babb's Park is located at 433 Babb's Road, West Suffield, CT. 

Suffield Senior Center Grand Opening
A Grand Opening Celebration for the new Senior Center will take place at 145 Bridge Street on Sunday, September 26 at 1 p.m.  The official ribbon cutting will take place at 1:30 p.m. followed by guest speakers in the Great Room.  We have entertainment, tours of our new facility, and refreshments planned for this gala afternoon event.  Hope to see you there!

Suffield Farmers Market . . running through Mid October
The Suffield Farmers Market continues their 10th season offering some of the best locally grown Agriculture Products that Connecticut has to offer.

The Market will runs from 9:00AM to Noon on the South Town Green.

12 Farmers showcase fruits, vegetables, plants, nursery stock, bakery items, jams, jelly, pickles, salsa, native honey, free range eggs and new this year will be grass fed beef.

Participants in the market include: 
 
Merry Mite Gardens of Suffield.  Marjorie Rollet Begin offers various trees, shrubs, unique plants, cement bird bath and planters and this year is offering botanical body powders. 
 
Jen Syme of Jen's Bouquets in East Windsor returns this year with her colorful floral bouquets and huge fall mums.  Jens daughters Emily and Becca help their mom at market and sell eggs from their pet chickens that were started as a 4H project. 
 
Becky Clark from Griffin Farmstead and Goodyear Greenhouses is also on hand offering goat milk from her dairy as well as a wide assortment of delicious goat cheese from plain to herb or how about cranberry and sundried tomato as well as goats milk soap. 
 
Brian Kelliher also returns this year from Easy Pickins Orchard in Enfield.  Brian brings a wide selection of vegetables as well as juicy delicious strawberries, blueberries, peaches and a great variety of apples, pears and other fruits. 
 
Bob Kane founder and President of Salsa Loca also returns with his fresh salsa blends. Fresh Trak Foods is based in East Granby, CT and has been producing Salsa Loca since 2005.
You can always count on a crowd at Bielonko Farms table.  Farm fresh corn, tomatoes and other local produce are well received by their ever faithful customers.  Summer officially arrives with the first taste of sweet corn! 
 
Also returning this year is Earl Waterman, Jr. of Waterman Farms in East Granby.  Fresh vegetables including juicy melons, fresh beets and free range eggs have also been in demand. 
 
Kathy and Donna Dunai tempt the taste buds of their customers from Cupola Hollow Farm in West Suffield.  Fresh jam, jelly, pickles, relish, pickles, native honey, dips, goats milk soap and fresh baked goods keep folks coming back for more.  Monster cinnamon buns, freshly made pie and bread are always a perfect treat for weekend visits.
 
Randy Johnson and Ann Hudson of Maplewood Farm in Suffield also return to offer a wide variety of delicious strawberries, rhubarb and fresh garden vegetables.  Fresh fingerling potatoes are a big hit in mid summer along with fresh garlic and onions.
 
New to the market this year is Herb Holden of Broad Brook Beef, Broad Brook.  Since 1978, the Holden's have been dedicated to raising cattle with a high regard for animal health and welfare. Broad Brook Beef prohibit the use of hormones and medications to improve feed efficiency and meat quality.
 
Come support your local farmer and put a face to who is growing your food.
The market will run Saturdays through mid October.
